6 Month Round-Up

So, as I alluded to in last night's post - it's been six months since my diagnosis.

THAT'S ALL!  JUST SIX LITTLE MONTHS!!!

...and they were the longest fucking months of my entire life, without a doubt.  It feels like that day in November was 6 YEARS ago.  That day.  That unholy long day of WAITING after the semi-sleepless night in Fairview Hospital WAITING.  My memory is not what it used to be, but I remember so much of it so clearly.  And you know what?  I'm not going to replay it!  Because we all know what happened and how it all ended up - better than one would have ever imagined!  So no rehashing.  Just a happy little cancer-half-versary.  If I could make a cake with a middle finger on it and eat the whole thing today, I would.  But that will not do my new healthy lifestyle any favors, so I'll just move on.

And here's an even better pseudo-anniversary: 4 weeks ago today, I got the unexpected (early) calls from both my nurse, Erin Naso AND Dr. Kebria sharing the great news of my PET scan results with me!!  Four weeks, officially cancer free!  (And damn it, Lacey... I can no longer hear or even THINK the words "PET scan" without doing them Batman Theme style in my head... "Na-na na-na na-na na-na, PET SCAN!" Hahaha!)

THAT is something way more worth celebrating.  Mentioning, even!

Thanks for sticking around so long, everyone!  And a special thanks to Lacey for reminding me the other day that I don't have to be positive ALL THE TIME!  I've been trying so hard to be that person and forgetting sometimes to get mad, sad or angry when the desire strikes.  I still want to keep this blog a mostly positive space, but I also want it to continue to be REAL... so if I need to get sassy - expect it!  (Thanks, Lacey!  I love you!)

I love all yous guys, too!
Xxo, Phoebe

I really hope that someone makes that cake with the middle finger sticking out! I think it would soothe a lot of souls.
Hey, no thanks needed! That's what I'm here for!!! Ever once in awhile, I have a nugget of wisdom that's actually useful.

And I hurt myself with that PET Scan/Batman comparison. It gets stuck in my head too!!
